Pevely is one of the most active new construction markets in Jefferson County — HWY 55 corridor growth has brought subdivisions, retail, and light commercial to an area that was mostly undeveloped fifteen years ago. The soil here is largely clay-dominant with occasional rock on higher elevations. New construction means newer utility corridors, but the pace of development also means early sewer and drainage failures where installation didn't meet spec.
